EL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPUBLICA





Y EL MINISTRO DE RECURSOS NATURALES, ENERGIA Y MINAS





En uso de las facultades que les confieren el artículo 140, inciso 3) de la Constitución Política y
los artículos 7 y 82 de la Ley de Conservación de la Vida Silvestre N° 7317 del 30 de octubre de
1992.





Considerando:





1°-Que mediante decreto ejecutivo N° 23121-MIRENEM, publicado el 26 de abril de 1994 se creó el
Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Limoncito.





2°-Que se hace necesario cambiar el área de Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre de propiedad estatal
a propiedad mixta. Por tanto,





Decretan:





Artículo 1°-Modifíquese el artículo 1 del decreto ejecutivo N° 23121-MIRENEM, para que en adelante
se lea como sigue:





Artículo 1°-Declárese el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Limoncito, de propiedad mixta, que
comprende los terrenos ubicados al sur de la Ciudad de Limón, cantón Central de la Provincia de
Limón, en la Hoja Topográfica Banano N°3545 II, escala 1:50.000 del Instituto Geográfico Nacional
cuyos linderos se describen como sigue: partiendo de un punto cuyas coordenadas geográficas son
217700 N y 642000 E, ubicado en el extremo sur del Estero Cienaguita, donde desemboca el canal nuevo
entre el Río Limoncito y con el Estero Cienaguita, el límite inicia con rombo 74° SO por el canal
nuevo una distancia de 2 100m hasta el punto de coordenadas 217100 N y 640000 E; continua con rombo
Sur Franco una distancia de 1825 m hasta intersectar con el canal viejo en el punto de coordenadas
215275 N y 64000 E; continua con rumbo 66° SE por el canal viejo una distancia de 6.100 m hasta
intersectar con la Quebrada Westfalia en el punto de coordenadas 212800 N 645600 E; continua con
rumbo Noroeste aguas arriba por la Quebrada Westfalia hasta el punto de coordenadas 213300 N y
645150 E; continua con rumbo 35° NO paralelo a la carretera Limón-Sixaola una distancia de 4 500 m
hasta el punto de coordenadas 216900 N y 642450 E; continua con rombo Norte Franco una distancia de
450 m hasta intersectar con un canal del Estero Cienaguita en el punto de coordenadas 217350 N y
642425 E; continua aguas abajo por dicho canal hasta intersectar con el Estero Cienaguita en el
punto de coordenadas 217700 N y 642200 E; continua con rombo Este y Sur por el Estero Cienaguita
hasta el punto de coordenadas 217700 N y 642000 E, que corresponde al punto de origen.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC





AND THE MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES, ENERGY AND MINES





In exercise of the powers conferred by article 140, subsection 3) of the Political Constitution and articles 7 and 82 of the Wildlife Conservation Law No. 7317 of October 30, 1992.





Considering:





1°-That by executive decree No. 23121-MIRENEM, published on April 26, 1994, the Limoncito National Wildlife Refuge was created.





2°-That it is necessary to change the area of the National Wildlife Refuge from state property to mixed property. Therefore,





Decree:





Article 1°-Amend article 1 of executive decree No. 23121-MIRENEM, so that henceforth it shall read as follows:





Article 1°-Declare the Limoncito National Wildlife Refuge, of mixed property, which comprises the lands located south of the City of Limón, Central canton of the Province of Limón, on the Banano Topographic Sheet N°3545 II, scale 1:50,000 of the National Geographic Institute (IGN), whose boundaries are described as follows: starting from a point whose geographic coordinates are 217700 N and 642000 E, located at the southern end of the Cienaguita Estuary, where the new channel between the Limoncito River and the Cienaguita Estuary flows out, the boundary begins with a 74° SW bearing along the new channel for a distance of 2,100 m to the point with coordinates 217100 N and 640000 E; continues due South for a distance of 1,825 m until intersecting with the old channel at the point with coordinates 215275 N and 640000 E; continues with a 66° SE bearing along the old channel for a distance of 6,100 m until intersecting with the Westfalia Creek (Quebrada Westfalia) at the point with coordinates 212800 N 645600 E; continues with a Northwest bearing upstream along the Westfalia Creek (Quebrada Westfalia) to the point with coordinates 213300 N and 645150 E; continues with a 35° NW bearing parallel to the Limón-Sixaola highway for a distance of 4,500 m to the point with coordinates 216900 N and 642450 E; continues due North for a distance of 450 m until intersecting with a channel of the Cienaguita Estuary at the point with coordinates 217350 N and 642425 E; continues downstream along said channel until intersecting with the Cienaguita Estuary at the point with coordinates 217700 N and 642200 E; continues with an East and South bearing along the Cienaguita Estuary to the point with coordinates 217700 N and 642000 E, which corresponds to the point of origin.
