El Cuerpo de Bomberos tendrá las siguientes funciones:

e) La atención de situaciones de emergencia que sean de su competencia y que involucren fauna, de acuerdo con los protocolos desarrollados con la asesoría de la entidad especializada correspondiente. En estas situaciones, su función se circunscribirá al control de los incidentes. En el ejercicio de la función descrita en este inciso, el personal de Bomberos estará exento de responsabilidad administrativa, civil o penal derivada del cumplimiento de su deber, siempre que su actuación se realice conforme a los protocolos internos establecidos y en apego a la legislación vigente.
English (translation)Article 5- Functions
The Fire Department shall have the following functions:

e) Attending emergency situations within its competence that involve wildlife, in accordance with protocols developed with the advice of the corresponding specialized entity. In such situations, its function shall be limited to incident control. In the exercise of the function described in this subsection, Fire Department personnel shall be exempt from administrative, civil, or criminal liability arising from the fulfillment of their duty, provided their actions are carried out in accordance with the established internal protocols and in compliance with current legislation.

POR MEDIO DE LA ADICIÓN DE UN INCISO
E) AL ARTÍCULO 5 DE LA LEY
8228, LEY DEL BENEMÉRITO CUERPO DE
BOMBEROS, DE 19 DE MARZO DE
2002
ARTÍCULO ÚNICO.- Se adiciona un nuevo inciso
e) al artículo 5 de la Ley 8228, Ley del Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos de Costa
Rica, de 19 de marzo de 2002 y se corre la numeración. El texto es el siguiente:

SINGLE ARTICLE.- A new subsection e) is added to Article 5 of Law 8228, Law of the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos de Costa Rica, of March 19, 2002, and the numbering is advanced. The text is as follows:
Article 5- Functions
The Cuerpo de Bomberos
shall have the following functions:

e) Attending to emergency situations that are within its competence and that involve fauna, in accordance with protocols developed with the advice of the corresponding specialized entity. In these situations, its function shall be limited to the control of the incidents. In the exercise of the function described in this subsection, Bomberos personnel shall be exempt from administrative, civil, or criminal liability derived from the fulfillment of their duty, provided that their actions are carried out in accordance with the established internal protocols and in compliance with current legislation.
